School history started in 1977.
The first headmaster F. Petrauskas ran school for 15 years. After changing 3 headmasters in March of 2003 present headmaster Vladas Klasavičius took command of school.
During 30 years school educated 28 students’ graduated, over 1300 school leavers (among them 10 gold and 16 silver medal winners, 10 students got their school – learning certificates with commendation).
School is not very large. There are 56 teachers and 796 school children here. They can choose to learn 2 from 3 foreign languages (English, German and Russian). School has a lot of special aesthetic and comfortable classrooms, 2 new IT classes, renewed gymnasium and conference hall. School library is a modern information centre meeting the teachers and students’ requirements with a spacious reading room equipped by computers, supplying the press issues and vocational guidance material.
School provides the services of psychologist, social teacher, special needs teacher, speech therapy specialist, special training board.

School has made international contacts with Kokkola Torkinmaki School in Finland since 1987. Both schools cooperate and regularly exchange students and teachers’ delegations.
School traditionally celebrates the 1st of September, Teacher’s Day, Earth Day, Mothers’ Day, Knowledge Day, Flowers Planting Day; organises 5th Formers’ Christening Party, a 100 – day party.
There are interesting extra – curricular activities at our school organised by clubs, sports and art societies. It is a continuous part of the training appropriated for development of intellectual, technical, artistic and social abilities.
Young dancers participated in Lithuanian song Festival in 2007. Actors of Drama club are constant winners of Drama Contest “Golden apple” in 1998 – 2001. Our students G. Bilbokaitė was awarded with “Golden Apple” Diploma for her performance “Unstoppable time – stopped”. Young designers conducted by technologies teacher Rūta Vaitonienė are active participants of fashion shows in Lithuania. School scouts regularly take part in town events, organise meetings, go to summer camps.
School is famous for its sportsmen. We are proud of basketball players – D. Songaila, A. Giedraitis, L. Krulikaitė and A. Kieža. Also we are glad with the achievements of our present pupils.
Almantas Oželis – 3rd place winner of international competition “Tennis Europe” in Turkey, 1st place winner of Baltic states team match.
Karolis Černelis – 1st place winner in Lithuanian Kyokushin karate junior group championship, 2nd place winner in European Kyokushin karate championship (55 kg), 1st place winner in Open Kyokushin karate championship in Romania.
Sandra Valukonytė – the most valuable basketball player in Bulgaria, 2nd place winner in three point shot European Competition.
Our Student Linas Brusokas took the 3rd place in international contest “Euroscola” and won the excursion for all his class to European Parliament in Strasbourg.
All community participated in the project “Striving for origami record in Lithuania” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of school in autumn 2007 and made 33288 paper birds.
